On Sunday, March 27 Nativity BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church opened the doors of our social hall to welcome the generous people of Berks county to support the people of Ukraine!
In this time of crisis, we, and many others, wanted to help support the victims in Ukraine. Our team of volunteers partnered with several others to organize a fundraiser. - Pasta For Ukraine! From day one, we were all committed to donating 100% of all monies collected to the War Victims & Humanitarian Aid Fund for Ukraine. Tickets were sold for $15 each at church, online and at other locations.
Mimmo's Italian Restaurant donated over 650 Spaghetti & Meatball Platter complete with salad, bread & butter. Mimmo, along with his sons and several employees rolled up their sleeves to prepare food and serve our guests. Chatty Monks Brewing Company of West Reading donated several craft beers which added to the beverage selections available to the guests. Entertainment was donated Vince Rollins, Mark James, George Cuba, and Deana Witzel. A good time was had by all!
Thank you doesn't seem to be enough! We are pleased to share our results and we are thankful to all who contributed! As a result of Pasta For Ukraine and donations from our food sales we are pleased to
donate over $25,000 to the War Victims & Humanitarian Crisis In Ukraine Fund!
Donations are still being collected at Nativity BVM and online via the
Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia
